Passing Place #1 is one of many stairwells I have photographed for the Passing Places category. I took the photograph in Bermondsey, London in February 2023.
In this photograph, the concrete steps are solid, maintained, and outlined by the brick red zigzag of the steps in profile. The sinewy black railings and handrail run in contrast. We know this place, but here we have a moment to look at them in their own right, not only as an insignificant part of a building complex.
